VRA Management and Staff Undergo COVID-19 Vaccination

Following the government’s directive on the nationwide vaccination exercise, Management of the VRA engaged the National COVID-19 Vaccination Team and Ghana Health Service (GHS) to commence vaccination of staff.

In a move to demonstrate leadership and demystify misconceptions about the vaccine, Deputy Chief Executive (Finance), Dr. Ebenezer Tagoe, took the symbolic first jab to reassure Staff of the safety of the vaccine and urged all to discount the conspiracy theory against the vaccine and get vaccinated.

Speaking to the VRA NEWS after his jab, Dr. Tagoe said, he was impressed with the turnout and adherence to the required safety protocols. “This is a national policy and we know it is for a good cause so the advice is that everybody should take it so that we would together eliminate the disease and its devastating consequences.”, he stated.

Also present to participate in the inoculation exercise were the Deputy Chief Executive (Engineering & Operations), Ing. E.D Osafo; Director, Internal Audit, Mr. Ebenezer Omari-Mireku; and Managing Director, PROPCo, Mr. William Bobie.

Ing. Osafo acknowledged the apprehension and general reservations about the vaccine but advised all staff to trust the science of medicine.

Board Member, Mr. Richard Obeng Okrah, expressed his elation at the proper organization of the campaign and positive staff turnout.

He said, “I have no qualms about the efficacy of the vaccine and I believe that it is going to give us a second line of defense along with the continued observance of the safety protocols.”

Vaccinations are expected to be rolled out in other work locations as instructions on regional deployment schedules are released by the Ghana Health Services.
